Dangerous goods & couriers restrictions

To comply with transport legislation and to ensure that mail in transport does not present a danger to the general public, courier and postal companies restrict or prohibit certain items.<br/>

  Restrictions vary by carrier. Below you will find links to the prohibited items lists of some prominent carriers. Here is an non-exhaustive list of items that are generally restricted or prohibited by courier and postal companies:

  Aerosols (including deodorants, because they contain compressed gases)

  Alcoholic beverages (above 24% ABV including spirits such as gin, rum, vodka and whisky) because they are flammable

  Ammunition (except air gun pellets)

  Controlled drugs and narcotics (including cannabis, cocaine, heroin, LSD, opium and amyl nitrate)

  Corrosives (including dyes, acids, corrosive paint and rust removers, caustic soda, mercury and gallium metal)

  Dry ice (e.g. UN1845 when used as a coolant for UN3373 of for other perishable items)

  Environmental waste (including used batteries and used engine oil)

  Explosives (including fireworks, flares, blasting caps and car airbag components)

  Flammable liquids (including acetone, certain alcoholic beverages, benzene, petroleum, lighter fluid, solvent-based paint thinners and removers, certain perfumes and aftershaves, varnishes including nail varnish or polish, enamels and certain adhesives)

  Flammable solids (including magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, sodium hydride, zinc powder and fire lighters)

  Gases (including flammable, non-flammable, toxic and compressed gases, gas cylinders for camping stoves, butane, ethane, methane, propane, fire extinguishers and scuba tanks)

  Human and animal remains (including ashes)

  Infectious substances and pathogens (UN2814, UN2900 and UN3373)

  Lighters and refills containing flammable liquid or gas (including butane lighters and used petrol cigarette lighters)

  Matches

Nail varnish or nail polish (because they are flammable)

Imitation(including fake LV,NIKE etc.)

  Oxidising materials or organic peroxides (including disinfectants, nitrates and hair dyes or colourants containing peroxide)

  Perfume and aftershave (including eau de toilette) because they are flammable

  Pesticides (including weed killer and any chemical used to kill pests and insects, such as fly sprays)

  Poisons, toxic liquids, solids and gases (including substances that are liable to cause death or injury if swallowed or inhaled or by skin contact, including arsenic, beryllium, cyanide, fluorine, rat poison)

  Solvent-based paints, wood varnishes and enamels

  Waste, dirt, filth or refuse (including household waste)

Weapons (including Section 5 Firearms, CS gas and pepper sprays, flick knives, tasers and stun guns)
